Spring Forward
To us springing forward means more than the time change. Springing forward is usually the time you can sneak in an outdoor gathering between rain storms. Even luckier is when you have a small covered outdoor area just in case the rain surprises you. We had a few friends for a simple gathering to celebrate spring. All it takes is a brightly colored table cloth, some spring flowers from the yard, and a few easy recipes. We couldn’t keep the grown ups away from our tasty food or our beautiful table.
A platter of brightly colored veggies with dip called crudite’s, deviled eggs, beautiful tiny sandwiches known as canape’s, and strawberry lemon curd tarts was our spring menu. We baked our tart shells ahead of time and each guest filled their own tart at the table.
So don’t miss your opportunity to have your own spring lunch outdoors rain or shine! Yes, the rain did surprise us but the food still tasted just as good.
