Cauliflower Au Gratin
This is one of our recipes that our big sister is absolutely crazy about! We love it too! The inside is so soft and cheesy, and the top is golden and a tiny bit crunchy. This Cauliflower Au Gratin recipe can make anyone love this tasty veggie. It is a great recipe to make with your culinary grown up helper! Especially grating the cauliflower and the cheeses. You can even prepare this earlier in the day and pop it in the oven when your guests arrive. We love having guests, kids and grown ups sharing the same beautiful tasty food!
Ingredients
1 head cauliflower
1 cup grated gruyere cheese
1/4 cup grated parmigiano reggiano cheese
1 cup cream (use half and half to reduce fat and calories a bit)
1/4 tsp paprika
Salt to taste
Directions
Always have your culinary grown up helper help you with the oven!
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees. Grate half of the cauliflower head into tiny pieces, chop the other half into very thin slices. Mix together with the cheeses and cream in a bowl. Place cauliflower mixture into a 8 x 8 inch baking dish that is lightly greased. Sprinkle paprika on the top and bake for about 1 hour or until top is golden and cauliflower is very tender. Cooking time can vary depending on the size of your baking dish. Salt to taste. You will love this recipe even served by itself but we love it with our chicken cutlet recipe! At our house this amount only serves 4 to 5 as a side dish, we suggest doubling it and having some tasty left overs!
You might even think your eating potatoes!
