Sweet Peppers

We grow them, we grill them and we eat them raw with balsamic vinegar, they really are sweet peppers. The best known sweet peppers are bell peppers, they do look like a bell. They come in so many fun colors, green, red, yellow, orange, purple and even brown. Another popular sweet pepper is the sweet banana pepper, yellow and shapped just like a banana. You can find many more varieties at your local farmers markets. These peppers are great for kids to try because they aren’t spicy, they have a nice crunch too. When you pick out your peppers from the market look for peppers that aren’t wrinkled that are firm and feel heavy for their size. It can be really fun to go in search for the freshest ingredients you can find, sweet peppers included.

Sweet peppers are available year round but we think summer sweet peppers are the best. Try them in salads, roasted, grilled, even stuffed with your favorite ingredients. Our favorite is still fresh, crispy and raw!
